Jeremy D. Butler is a registered nurse of 14 years with an extensive background in hospice, palliative care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care. As a recently retired Army veteran, Jeremy founded Butler Nurse Consultants PLLC in 2017, a legal nurse consultancy that works to help the local community in finding appropriate resources for a variety of needs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, is a legal nurse consultant and certified dementia practitioner.


Jeremy’s passions include public health, nursing education, community nursing, rural health, dementia care, and health law. His experience in government and public service combined with his nursing career has led him to several volunteer opportunities and community callings. Some of his accomplishments include:


  • Helping to develop and implement a palliative and hospice telenursing program become a fully funded program with one of the larger California health care networks.

  • Working as part of a collaborative telenursing program managing the care of several hundred patients with advanced illness.

  • Serving as the Director of Patient Clinical Services with a local hospice where he was instrumental in providing a free-of-charge “Life Story” documentary of patients and their families.

  • Serving as a key member of a focus, research and testing group for ProActive Memory Services and the University of Utah Center for Alzheimer’s Care, Imaging and Research (CACIR) and their efforts.

  • Being a member of the Alzheimer’s Association – Utah Chapter.

  • Working in the capacity as a legal nurse consultant helping develop nursing life care plans for afflicted individuals.

  • Serving as a caregiver support network volunteer and practitioner in the local community.

  • Serving as a personal caregiver to his own family members diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
